UW Board of Trustees Member Resigns
University of Wyoming Trustee Larry Gubbels has resigned from the UW Board of Trustees, citing health concerns, the university says.
Gubbels was appointed by Gov. Matt Mead in 2013. His term would have run through Feb. 28, 2019.
“I deeply regret having to make this decision,” Gubbels wrote in his letter of resignation. “I find that, in my heart and head, I am still able to serve, but my physical body is not able to sustain all-day meetings. I will continue my support and care deeply for the University of Wyoming.”
Board of Trustees members are appointed by the governor with approval from the Wyoming Senate.
