Albany County School District Superintendent Announces Retirement
At the February 2 Board of Trustees Work Session, Albany County School District #1 (ACSD#1) Superintendent Dr. Jubal Yennie announced his intention to resign following the conclusion of the 2021-22 school year.
The Board of Trustees will begin to look for a professional search organization to assist with the search for a new Superintendent.
Dr. Yennie’s tenure with ACSD#1 saw the District move forward in a number of ways, including updating old policies, many of which had not been reviewed in 20 years.
Dr. Yennie also implemented a year-round “Meet and Confer” process with employees.
The new Laramie High School opened its doors during his tenure, and ACSD#1 is scheduled to open the new Slade Elementary School in July.
Dr. Yennie also prioritized the creation of a caring culture throughout the District. Improvements to the personnel policies, including the Leave Policy, took several years of collaboration with a broad-based group of staff.
