If your kids are football fans, pay attention because this is one event you won't want to miss! The Wyoming Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) are raising money for a missions trip to Haiti and their last big fundraiser is a Football Fun Day for Haiti with the Wyoming Cowboys for kids in eighth grade and under.

A local charity is in need of a new location for one of its programs. Suited for Success is a program through the Zonta Club of Laramie that has been helping women prepare a professional wardrobe since the 90's.

The 3rd annual Whale of a Children's Sale is coming up in May to benefit the Wyoming Children’s Society, Wyomings oldest adoption agency, established in 1911. This big fundraiser for the organization actually takes place in Cheyenne with a big sale on on May 5th from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church. However a local Laramie resident, Robin Despain, will be collecting donations throughout Laramie and delivering them to Cheyenne to try and boost the number of donations they receive for the sale.

Russ Weitl's life was forever changed when he suffered a spinal cord injury during a memorial rodeo last year. He's on the road to recovery and thanks to Rowdy's Hope In Motion that road just got a little smoother with a handicap accessible van.

Yesterday in the spirit of Valentine's Day, Wyoming State Bank held their first annual "Giving from the Heart" event which awarded grants to over 60 different local organizations in the community. There were around 160 applications for funding and the bank was proud to award over30% of the requests that they received. Grants were given anywhere in the range of $40 to $42,000.

Soroptimist International of Laramie is hosting the 6th Annual Laramie Laughs for a Cause on Saturday, February 11th at The Hilton Garden Inn/UW Conference Center. It's so much fun, you won't even know you're at a fundraiser.

You can get your taxes filed for free by trained tax preparers at the Albany County Public Library. United Way of Albany County is holding multiple tax help sessions during the upcoming months, with the first session on Saturday, January 28 from 1-5 p.m.

I heard from a friend that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Laramie was holding a cardboard sled derby up at the Happy Jack sledding hill, and I had to check it out and share this neat event with everyone. Best of all it is open to the public, so grab a group of friends or take your kids up to participate for an fun filled day outside. I have seen this done at some of the bigger ski resorts before, but I had no idea there was anything like it around Laramie.

More than 410 University of Wyoming employees contributed $122,500 in support of Albany County's 14 United Way agencies. The funding is part of the $400,000 total raised in the capital campaign for United Way in Albany County.

At the anniversary of 25 years of operation, CLIMB Wyoming is being recognized by the federal government as one of the nation's top 10 innovative and high performing organizations to help move low-income single mothers toward self-sufficiency. The organization says the recognition comes as a result of CLIMB's remarkable outcomes, evidence-based model design, sophisticated data collection, and ability to utilize data to drive program decisions. In other words, it works.
