Joshua T. Hancock of Cheyenne has been charged with third offense possession of controlled substance, according to a Laramie Police Department press release.

Hancock was pulled over at 11:36 a.m. in Laramie on August 15, 2018 for a license plate violation. After the traffic stop and investigation of the vehicle, Hancock and his two passengers were arrested. The passengers, Philip J. Lujan and Richard S. Carpenter, both from Cheyenne have been charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. They were released from the Albany County Detention Center after posting bond.

Possession of controlled substance, third or subsequent offenses, may be punishable by five years in prison, a $5,000 fine, or both.

Hancock has been released after posting a $1,000 signature bond.
