If you have been in downtown Laramie lately, you might have noticed that the old Home Bakery has re-opened with a new concept and a new name; Bella Home Boutique & Bakery. The store opened back on Black Friday in November with a special 20% off sale on all their merchandise and all kinds of giveaways to celebrate their entrance into downtown Laramie. Shortly following on December 1st, the bakery potion of the store opened for business as well.

The new store is a bit of a change from the old Home Bakery as it mixes an elegant boutique into the mix with the bakery. The idea to combine the bakery and boutique came about when the two sisters read an article in one of their favorite magazines about a woman who had recently opened a boutique that sold cupcakes and baked goods out of the back of the store. Wouldn't you know it the Home Bakery in Laramie just happened to be for lease, and the sisters opening the store even happened to be friends with Kim Campbell, the old owner of the home bakery who is back baking once again. Stephanie, one of the sisters who owns Bella Home Boutique & Bakery, said that people have been coming in to request all of their old favorites that Kim used to bake up. As the bakery gets fully up and rolling more and more of these old favorites are being made available. Currently the main items being produced by the bakery are Christmas cookies, croissants, butterhorns, cinnamon rolls, and a plethora of breads including white, wheat, marbled rye, and cinnamon swirl. Stephanie says that the butterhorns are the bakery's biggest seller, but if you want one you have to come in early before they sell out. The bakery potion of the store is also taking special orders for baked goods like cakes and cookies for the holidays and any special events. Eventually the sister's plan is to expand the bakery to include food for lunch including some of the great soups and sandwiches from the past. Stop by the bakery often as the items baked will change on a daily basis.

The front of the store comprises all kinds of merchandise as you can see from the photo gallery at the onset of this story. In order to accomodate the boutique portion of the store, there was some remodeling that took place to move the bakery further back in the space and to redesign the seating area. The boutique portion of the store includes a wide range of merchandise with a focus on womens and childrens clothing, jewelry, and accessories. There are also all kinds of nice things for the home like lamps, picture frames and candles. Stephanie mentrioned that they have new merchandise coming in daily as they figure out exactly what people are looking for in the boutique. They are taking people's suggestions seriously when it comes to both the boutique and bakery. One other thing that the boutique offers is quite the atmosphere. Earlier this month they tied with Mimi's for the "Best Overall" award in Laramie Main Street's Holiday Window Decorating Contest. If you are looking for something for your wife or girlfriend head on down to the boutique and let the sisters help you pick out a great gift.

This upcoming Saturday, December 10th, the bakery is also hosting free cupcake decorating for kids from 2PM - 4PM. It's a great opportunity to head downtown and check out the new store. If you have any questions contact the Bella Home Boutique & Bakery at (307) 460-2674 or hop on their Facebook page.
