Ask The City – Will Water Lines on Mitchell St. be Replaced?

Recently there was yet another water main problem/leak on Mitchell, east of 15th street. Will Mitchell ever be repaired like they did Coughlin a couple of years ago, and a portion of Reynolds this past summer? If so, when?

The City's Response:

The City has actively worked to upgrade the condition of the potable water system by replacing many of the old pipes in recent years. Priority for this work is based upon number of leaks, but we also review the condition of sewer pipes and streets before making a determination. All factors are evaluated each year to update the schedule for work, so we can address as many needs as possible when a decision is made. At this time, the water line in Mitchell east of 15^th Street is not projected to be replaced in the next two years.
