Your Question:

I would like to know when something might be done about the Clark Street Bridge. Not only are the sides chipping away but there are two holes developing on the bridge that just keep getting bigger and bigger. The holes do get filled but it doesn’t last long before it has to be done again.

The City's Answer:

The Clark Street overpass belongs to WYDOT and they care for it.  Patching on Clark Street overpass will be done by WYDOT when the weather permits.

The “sloughing” of the concrete is a different problem and one of the reasons given by WYDOT that they plan to demolish the overpass when the Harney Street overpass has been completed.  The cost of re-establishing the surface of the concrete is more than the good that could come from the work.  Much of the slough falls on the rail yard, and must be cleaned by Union Pacific, so WYDOT is very aware of the problem, but without a good solution that is immediate.  The construction of the Harney Street overpass will be scheduled for the fiscal year 2014, but that does not mandate construction to begin in that year.  There are a number of issues to be resolved.
