The Question:

Preserving the "tree" zone. On the issue of the "Tree Overlay Area District, I am wondering if the City is going to send out the same bogus information that was given to the "Tree Zone" people in 2011. I was and am a Citizen of the "Tree Zone". I attended the meetings, I filled out the forms (bogus as they were). I was completely disappointed in the Council trying to fit the Tree Area into some idiotic monitored rules that weren't even listed on the form as being concerned about. When I spoke to my neighbors about attending the meetings - the response I now get is: "The City Council will do what they want and it doesn't matter what the People think." After watching the last Council meeting, I tend to agree.

The Answer:

“Only information related to the development of the Tree Area Overlay District has ever been sent out to area residents.  Materials sent included a survey and basic information regarding the proposed district, in addition to meeting dates for public open houses on the topic.  All the information sent was valuable in the development of proposed Ordinance. Further information, including the draft regulation can be found at the City’s website at http://cityoflaramie.com/treeareaoverlaydistrict.”
