Your Question:

Has either the City or UW's transit and parking engineers ever looked at the possibility of making Ivinson street one way going from 15th to 9th thereby reducing the number of changes the stoplight must make near the dorms, and also installing diagonal parking?

The City's Response:

Ivinson Street from 15th to 9th Streets is slated for major street and utility repair within the next two years. City staff and UW have discussed several alternatives for incorporating a bike path, and reconfiguring traffic and parking patterns along this part of Ivinson, and one possible aspect would be changing the street to one-way westbound along these six blocks.

Planning for Ivinson’s reconstruction is still in early stages, so there will be opportunity for additional comment and discussion. The Community Development Department would be interested in hearing the public’s thoughts on this as well as other possibilities for improving travel on Ivinson Street, which plays a unique role for Laramie and the University.
