The Question:

ok so i took a job cleaning out a house for a friend since they were moving and had to take two truck loads of trash to the dumps and i was charged two different prices. the first time i went i was charged 8.50 the second time i went i was charged 10.50 based of how wide and long my truck was which i found to be such an inconvenience since my truck has never been measured before and the person said i should have been charged more but i was getting a "break" now have i ever been treated so rudely before what are the rates for the dump and when did measuring someone truck come into play with how much you are charged for this i feel is so unfair

The Answer:

“Disposal fees are based on the type and amount of waste being disposed. Because of that, it is very common for customers to pay a different fee each time they come to the landfill. Disposal fees are and have always been calculated on volume. The only way to get a fair and accurate volume is to measure the load. In the near future, fees will be based on the weight of the waste being disposed of. This will also cause a customer’s fee to be different each time they come in. Disposal fees can be found at the Solid Waste Divisions web page at www.cityoflaramie.org or by calling 721-5279. Customer service is of high importance to the City of Laramie. You are encouraged to call the Solid Waste Manager at 721-5309 to discuss the specific details of your interaction with staff to assist us with necessary counseling."
