Ask the City: Construction Equipment Hours of Operation
Question: How do I have the hours of operation of heavy equipment changed to better fit the neighborhood? The hours indicated on the ordinance from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. are not appropriate for a residential neighborhood.
Answer: City of Laramie Municipal Code allows for construction equipment to operate between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The City Engineer can authorize longer hours if a special need on a project occurs--this is handled on a case-by-case basis. If a contractor is operating outside of these working hours, you may contact the Police Department at 721-2526 to file a complaint and an officer will investigate, or you may call Engineering at 721-5250 to ask any questions about projects in the right-of-way. All changes to Laramie, WY Municipal Code must be approved by the Laramie City Council.
Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “Where can I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”
Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
