The University of Wyoming Art Museum will open its doors for free on Saturday, Sept. 29, while participating in a nationwide event. Museum Day Live! is an annual event sponsored by Smithsonian magazine. Museums across the country and the state will open their doors for free for those who have tickets to the event.
Museum Day Live! tickets are free to the public. Those wishing to get tickets can go to Smithsonian.com/museumdaylive. Tickets will then be emailed to the participating email address. Tickets must then be printed for admission into the museum. Each ticket can admit up to two people into the museum.
A total of 11 museums across the state will participate in the event.
This free museum day comes at a time when the museum has a total of eight exhibitions open for display. Exhibitions scheduled at the museum on Saturday include Margaret Cogswell: Wyoming River Fugues, Harry Krug: Serigraphy, Nature in Bronze: Sculpture from the Art Museum Collection, The American Vision of Winslow Homer: The Harper’s Weekly Illustrations, Caribbean Color, Urban Lines and International Forms: Selected Works by Emilio Sanchez, Bold Strokes and Finesse: The Stage Designs of John Ezell, Interstitial: Between Earth and Sky, and American Regionalism: Selections from the Art Museum Collection.
