The Wyoming Department of Transportation, or WYDOT, is in the process of discussing plans for the reconstruction of Grand Avenue between 15th and 21st Streets in the year 2014. We want to know what you think will be the most important improvement on Grand Avenue.
Plans to reconstruct Grand Avenue in Laramie between 15th and 21st Streets in 2014 will be the main topic at an open house being put on by the Wyoming Department of Transportation. WYDOT spokesperson Ross Doman says the public is welcome to come and learn more about the project on September 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the West Ballroom in the UW Student Union.
If you've been around Laramie this summer you've probably noticed more than just a couple of construction projects. Public works Director Rich Elliot said in a press release that a total of 33 projects will have been completed by the end of the 2012 construction season, compared to what used to be an average of 10-15 projects during any given construction season.
The Wyoming Transportation Department has closed the Clark Street Viaduct until the last week of August. The viaduct is shut down on both ends so some repair work can be done according to Ross Doman.
Road construction projects are hardly ever convenient, but some projects definitely go better than others. The project on the intersection of 30th St and Grand Avenue was able to finish up eight days early, but it still forced drivers to detour away from a major part of Laramie for two months.
The new Grand Avenue and 30th Street intersection was opened to the public by the Wyoming Transportation Department at 3 p.m. on Thursday after over two months of work. WYDOT engineer Scott Taylor said the project was completed eight days early thanks to the diligent work of those involved.
Your Question:
When will the reconstruction of 17th Street between Palmer and Person be completed? The project was put on hold due to weather last fall with temporary paving in place.
