Why is Parking Allowed at 30th and Grand? – Ask the City

The State just re-made 30th and Grand. They put in two lanes southbound through the intersection. However there is parking allowed on 30th Street south of the intersection. This essentially negates the benifit of two lanes through the intersection as parked vehicles partially block the curbside lane. City should prohibit this parking. Question is Why they have not?

The City's Response:

The Street and Engineering Divisions have been reviewing this area. A request to the Traffic Commission regarding the parking and other possible modifications is planned in the near future. Additional information can be obtained by calling Engineering at telephone number 721-5345.
