If you are University of Wyoming student, faculty or friend you can get a free Thanksgiving dinner on November 16th from 5PM to 7PM in the University of Wyoming Ballroom. The Student Activities Council is helping to pull off the big dinner a week before Thanksgiving so that everyone can attend, so break out those elastic waist bands and bring your biggest appetite to celebrate Thanksgiving at UW.

Don't worry this isn't cafeteria food! The meal is catered by Altitude’s Chophouse and Brewery, so students will be able to experience a truly traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings; pumpkin pie included.
The SAC Thanksgiving Dinner is meant to provide all students, including those who may not normally celebrate Thanksgiving as part of their culture, the chance to experience this unique American holiday.

“Last year was our first time putting on this dinner and it went very well,” Anna Rader, lead student programmer of the Student Activities Council, said.  “Not only did we give away all of our tickets, but we had people showing up without tickets asking for food.  It was also a wonderful opportunity for many
of our international students to experience Thanksgiving and learn what it is all about.”

Beginning at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 9, free tickets will be available to students with a valid UW student ID at the Union Information Desk.  Additional tickets for spouses, partners or children will be available for $5.
Children of UW students under the age of 12 will be free.  Tickets are given out on a first come first serve basis.
In addition to the dinner, live music will also be a part of the overall experience.   The UW music department Big Band along with other student combos will be providing live music and entertainment for diners
throughout the evening.
