While Laramie might not always attract the biggest stars or celebrities that come to town for performances, we do have our fair share of unique acts thanks to the University of Wyoming. This particular event is also free, which is nice; if you are looking for more free music check out the Central City Opera as well.

On the evening of Saturday, November 5th you can catch free music in the UW Fine Arts Concert Hall at 7:30PM. This particular concert brings a unique flavor because it is focused around the Moldovan panflute. Professor Rod Garnett has just returned from studying in Chişinau, Moldova and is bringing the concert to Laramie. At the concert you will experience cultural music that is featured in folklore ensembles, wedding bands and popular music in Romania and Moldova. In addition to the Moldovan panflute, this concert will also combine with clarinet, flute, and piano.

The musicians scheduled to perform Saturday are Garnett with the Moldovan nai; Rickard and Rubia Cristina Souza Santos on the piano; McGee on the clarinet; and the UW Flute Quartet: Jeong-Uk Kang, Kyung a Choi, Brittany Moe and Rebecca Eggli.
