Now that we are within a week of Christmas, kids around Laramie have to be getting excited for Santa and his reindeer to make the rounds through town. However right before Christmas on Friday, December 23rd, Santa will be making an appearance at the Laramie Ice & Events Center for skating with Santa. If you were planning on taking the kids to Murdoch's this past weekend for their live reindeer event that was canclled a few days prior, this might be a good way to redeem yourself with the kids! Skating with Santa will take place from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on the 23rd. In past years, Santa has skated with the kids and handed out candy canes as well as taking some time to let kids sit down on his lap. The Ice and Events Center will be playing holiday tunes so head on over to get in the holiday spirit right before Christmas. The only fee to attend this events is the normal public skate cost, which is only $2 for 3-5 year olds and $4 for everyone else. You can also rent skates for $2.25 a pair if needed.

Even if you don't make it out for the special skate with Santa, skating is a great activity to get out and enjoy during the holidays that isn't all that expensive. If you are looking for something to do with visiting friends and family this could be a great option. The Ice and Events Center will have special holiday hours for the next few weekends. They will be open for public skate on December 24th from 11 AM to 4 PM and will be closed on December 25th. On December 31st the Ice & Events Center will be open for public skate from 10 AM to 12:45 PM and will be closed on January 1st. For normal hours outside of these special exclusions check out the Ice and Events Center's website for details or give them a call at (307) 721-2161.
