The main fundraiser for the Laramie Police Department Foundation is “The Blue Bolt,” a 5K run on May 19 starting at Optimist Park.

This will be the fourth year of the 5K run, but as LPD Foundation spokesperson Norbert Kriebel explains this is open to any and all ages and skill levels, as it’s an event designed to be fun for all. It runs along the Laramie River Greenbelt trail.

Kriebel joined host David Settle during the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show Tuesday to discuss the details of this year’s fundraiser on Sunday, May 19. Kriebel described how the name came about, what they use the funds for, a need for volunteers, prizes awarded for the top finishers, and more in the video above.

The entry fee is $35. You can register online through active.com or sign-up the morning of “The Blue Bolt” at Optimist Park. The race sign-in and start will be by Shelter No. 3.
