Ice Melt-Ask the City
Question:
Why doesn't the city put sand down at the intersections after a storm?
Answer:
"Rather than sand, the city uses a product called ice melt that is as effective. It has some grit for traction and melts the ice when the temperature is zero or above. No product is effective at melting ice at the temperatures we had last night and today. Sand also causes maintenance issues while adding to subsequent cleanup efforts."
Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “Where can I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”
Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
