LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming has tasked a group of faculty and administrators with addressing issues raised by employees last year.

The new working group was created in response to a survey conducted by The Chronicle of Higher Education at dozens of colleges.

Many University of Wyoming employees surveyed gave low marks when asked about their working environment. The surveyed individuals make up about 57 percent of all full-time faculty and staff at the university.

The survey found less than half of the Wyoming employees' answers were considered positive, about 20 percent lower than the positive response rate among other research universities' employees who participated.

Professor Mark Barker, who is chairing the response group, plans to create smaller panels focused on various areas of staff concern.
