If you missed spring cleaning, the City of Laramie wants to help you de-clutter this summer. They’re offering landfill vouchers, good for one free load of trash to be deposited at the landfill.

The vouchers are good for one pickup load (approximately 2.5 yards) to be dropped off at the city landfill at 162 Roger Canyon Road. The deadline to apply for a voucher is Friday, Aug. 4, by 2:30 p.m.

Vouchers will be accepted at the landfill until Sept. 16, and are for Laramie residents, not businesses, industrial or commercial waste disposal. The minimum load cost is $12, so save yourself some scratch and get rid of a mess while you’re at it.

To apply for a voucher, visit the City of Laramie’s Landfill Voucher Program website and fill out the application form. The voucher is for applicable waste and recyclables. The site provides specific information about what cannot be disposed of using a voucher, like hazardous waste and dead animals.

Applicants will need proof of residency such as a utility bill. Vouchers will be emailed or mailed to qualifying applicants. The City of Laramie asks landfill users to consider what items they bring to the landfill. Clothes, non-perishable food, and furniture can be donated to numerous organizations around town.

From Aug. 14 to Sept. 9, the Albany County Planning Office will be accepting applications for tires and refrigerator disposal. For that information and application, visit their website here.
