With just a couple of days left until Christmas, we have pretty much expended major events going on around town pertaining to the holiday and of course there is not much going on this weekend. However we do have New Years Eve to look forward to shortly. I have some pretty fond memories of New Years as it was always our family tradition to fondue on New Years Eve as we waited to ring in the new year. We thought it might be helpful to take a quick look at the events that we know of going around town on New Years Eve so here it goes. There are some events planned, but I do have to say that I was a little surprised there were not more major things going on around Laramie. By all means let us know in the comments below if you have found something great to do that we have failed to mention here and we will add it into the list.

Luciano's Celebration at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center - 8:00 PM

Starting at 8PM on New Year's Eve, Lucianos will hold a celebratory event at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center on the grounds of the Laramie Plains Museum. There are several things planned throughout the night including of course a very nice Italian dinner by Luciano's. The menu includes an entree choice of Slow Roasted Prime Rib, Fresh Salmon with Pinot Noir Glaze, & Vegetarian Manicotti with Handmade Marinara. You also get a choice of sides including Sweet Basil Babby Carrots or Caramelized Onion Potato Gnocchi and Classic Tiramisu for dessert. A glass of wine or beer is included with the meal and there will be a full bar for the duration of the evening. Along with the meal will be a dance featuring live music from the "Flatirons Jazz Band" as folks wait to ring in the new year when there will be a midnight champagne toast. Tickets to this event are pretty reasonably priced at $75 per couple.

Miss Laramie Jubilee Days 2012 Coronation Celebration - 5:30 PM

Miss Laramie Jubilee Days, Kodie Lester, will be crowned as the 2012 Miss Laramie Jubilee Days on New Years Eve at the Albany County Fairgrounds Activities Building. Doors will open at 5:30 PMto the public and this is a family friendly event. The night's food will be catered by the Holiday Inn and there will be a dinner/social hour leading up to the coronation ceremony when Kodie will be crowned. For entertainment up to midnight, there will be live music from "The Ranchers" and of course there will be swing dancing. A special celebration when the clock strikes midnight will take place although we were not told exactly what that is going to be. Tickets to the event ar $15 per adult, $5 for kids 5-12 and Kids under 5 get in for free. Funds raised from the event go to Laramie Jubilee Days to help the royalty with expenses throughout the year. You can also help the cause through a silent auction that will accompany the event.

Hilton Garden Inn Special Dinner & Room New Years Deal

In past years the Hilton Garden Inn has held a nice New Years celebration and are changing things up a bit this year. Throughout the evening there will be a special dinner at the hotel featuring the menu pictured below. Dinner includes an appetizer, bread sticks, salad, an entree, two sides of your choice and dessert. There is not any kind of entertainment offered beyond the meal, but if you want to party the night away and not have to worry about driving home they have you covered. There is a special dinner and room package which is $149 per couple which also includes a free breakfast the next morning. If you just want to head over for dinner it is $50 per couple.

The Cavalryman New Years Celebration - 9 PM

The Cavalryman now affectionately known as "The Cav at Fort Saunders" will also be holding a special celebration on New Year's Eve centered around fine food. They will offer two main specials, "The Ultimate NYE Experience" and their "Prime Rib Dinner." Check out what exactly each includes below. Starting at 9PM they will have live music provided by "Danno and Friends" along with bar specials and a late night menu to tie everyone over through midnight.

Other Options & Events

We have also seen that Altitudes will have a DJ for the evening and a champagne toast at midnight. Of course if any of the events above are not your cup of tea, you can always head downtown to the Cowboy Dance Hall & Saloon or the Buckhorn Bar to celebrate. We hope that everyone has a happy and safe New Years. Please don't drink and drive. Leading up to New Years we will post some free ways to get home and one that will tow you and even your car home for free!
