Your Question:

On 9th Street their are signs in the middle of the road for the crosswalks. Why are they never at the crosswalks? isn't that where they should be? That's how I see them everywhere else.

The City's Answer:

In an effort to increase pedestrian safety, the University utilizes the placement of additional signage on the center-line of 9th Street and on Ivinson to slow motorists who travel those streets. Some studies have shown these signs to be effective in meeting the goal of upgrading pedestrian safety. Maintenance and placement of those signs is solely the responsibility of University staff and the City has consented to allow this practice in the public right-of-way.
