Your Question:

I'm thinking of moving to Laramie and would like to know if the town is bike-friendly? Are there bike paths, trails, lanes within the city limits? Secondly, can you provide information on biking in the mountains - trail data?

The City's Response:

Laramie is a very bike friendly community as a small university town. We have identified and striped bike lanes on most collector streets and some principal arterial streets. In addition we have approximately 8 miles of improved bike trails throughout the community and along the Laramie River.

In the adjacent Medicine Bow National Forest there are mountain bike trails 35 miles west in the Snowy Range, as well as mountain bike trails 5 miles to the east of town in the Pole Mountain area of the Medicine Bow National Forest. Also approximately 15 miles east of Laramie is Curt Gowdy State Park which includes over 30 miles of mountain bike trails that have been developed with the assistance of the International Mountain Biking Association.

We hope this helps with your decision to consider Laramie as your home.
