The pilot of a plane that crashed southwest of Laramie Wednesday morning was able to walk away with only minor cuts, the Albany County Sheriff's Office says.

According to an agency Facebook post, the crash happened around 9 a.m. near Windy Ridge Road, about four miles northeast of Harmony.

ACSO: Pilot Accidentally Turned Off Fuel Switch

"Deputies determined that the crash was caused by the pilot's inadvertent switching of the fuel switch to the 'off' position, resulting in the plane's engine failure," the post reads.

Despite this, the Sheriff's Office says the pilot managed to land the plane successfully, but it overturned due to the rugged terrain.

"We are thankful that this unfortunate incident didn’t end in tragedy," the post reads.
