Laramie’s safe downtown trick-or-treating event was a huge success this year, with hundreds more people attending the event. Scaramie took place on Saturday, October 25. The event lasted for two hours, but that didn’t stop the crowds of people from heading downtown for their tricks and treats.

Trey Sherwood, Executive Director of the Laramie Main Street Alliance, says approximately 3,500 people attended the event this year. That’s up from around 3,000 attendees in 2013. Sherwood says the nice weather definitely played a role in the high attendance.

In addition, Sherwood says approximately 75 businesses participated in Scaramie. That added up to a lot of treats for the children dressed in costumes and hitting the streets on Saturday. Many businesses even had Halloween themed window displays, adding to the family friendly holiday feel in historic downtown Laramie.
