Question:

Is there any way to prevent a neighbor from feeding animals in their yard? Our neighbor leaves scraps of food on their property and it has become a rodent/bird buffet, resulting in a huge problem with mice, raccoons, and birds throughout the neighborhood.

Answer:

"The City of Laramie has an ordinance prohibiting the feeding of wildlife within city limits, including pigeons. The ordinance does, however, allow for the feeding of squirrels and songbirds.

If the manner in which they are being fed attracts other wildlife in congregation, or predators as defined by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, a complaint can be made with the Laramie Animal Shelter.

There are several nuisance animal trappers and exterminators in town that can help with nuisance wildlife as well. Laramie Animal Control officers do not interfere with free ranging wildlife.

Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “How do I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”

Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
