Partial Building Collapse In Downtown Laramie, No Injuries Reported [PHOTOS]
A building in Historic Downtown Laramie partially collapsed early this morning, exposing the interior of the structure. The partial collapse on the 400 block of South Second Street was reported at approximately 6 a.m.
Officials from the Laramie Police Department and the Laramie Fire Department responded within minutes to the scene to find that the southwest portion of the building at 404 South Second Street, which was home to a wine bar and gallery, had partially collapsed.
City Officials are on the scene and are working with a contractor to find the best way to stabilize the area and ensure public safety.
First and Second Streets between Custer and Garfield Streets will remain closed to through traffic until further notice. Streets will reopen when deemed safe to do so.
Train traffic has also been limited to a slower speed to reduce vibrations that may further damage the structure.
No injuries occurred in this incident. The public is advised to remain a safe distance from the area as this situation is ongoing.
