Laramie-area emergency responders were called out to battle a late-night blaze at the R Journey Campground on Tuesday.

That's according to a release from the City of Laramie Fire Department. According to the release, at around 11:20 p.m. dispatch operators received a report of a fire in a utility garage at the R Journey Campground.

The release says the report prompted a response from Albany County Communications, Laramie Fire Department, Laramie Police Department, Albany County Sherriff Office, Laramie Water Department, Black Hills Energy, and Rocky Mountain Power.

Fire Engine 3 responded to the blaze and found flames were visible from one of the windows and two garage doors. But firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in seven minutes.

The release goes on to say "The maintenance building sustained significant damage and was completely destroyed in the blaze. The rapid response by emergency personnel prevented the fire from spreading further and causing additional damage to surrounding structures.  The last unit remained on scene for about 3 hours to make certain the fire was out."

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Historic Wyoming Hotels

Wyoming's once wild west also incorporated a little luxury. Several fine hotels dotted the state, along trade routes and railroad lines. They have rich histories, and of course, ghost legends.
