A lockout imposed early Wednesday after threats against two Laramie schools was lifted around noon, according to Stuart Nelson of Albany County School District One.

Nelson says Laramie Police Chief Dale Stalder has no information that indicates the  'creepy clown' threats posted to social media are credible. The investigation continues; Lt. Gwen Smith said earlier that officers are trying to track the origin of the posts.

Superintendent Jubal Yennie says a Laramie student may be a suspect. If that's the case, Yennie says, the district will not release further information.

Evening activities at Laramie schools will continue as normal Wednesday, but with an increased police presence, according to Nelson.

Laramie High School Principal Stacy Bush emailed parents and guardians at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to let them know part of the increased police presence at LHS is due to a routine, previously scheduled training.

Here is the email from Bush:

Dear Laramie High School Parents/Guardians,

Members of the Laramie Police Department are conducting a routine (and previously scheduled) training at Laramie High School today.  This is not related to the current clown threat.  All of the exterior doors are secured with limited access through the front doors.  Additional police presence is on campus today as a precaution.

Warmly

Stacy Bush

Principal

Laramie High School

We will continue to follow the police investigation and provide updates as new information becomes available.
