"Ayers, known to law enforcement as potentially armed and dangerous, was wanted on charges of First-Degree Sexual Assault, Aggravated Burglary, Felonious Restraint, and Domestic Battery," the ACSO in a Facebook post late Tuesday morning said.

The ACSO, who was assisted with the high-risk warrant service by the United States Marshals Service and federal partners, the Platte County Sheriff's Office, the United States Forest Service, and the Cheyenne Police Department, says the arrest was carried out safely and without incident to either Ayers or any members of law enforcement.

Ayers was taken to the Albany County Detention Center, where he was booked on his warrant.

On Monday, July 14, Ayers was seen in Albany County Circuit Court on the charges.

Ayers Waives Preliminary Hearing, Posts $80K Bond

"Ayers waived his preliminary hearing on July 21, and the case has been bound over to District Court," the ACSO said. "He was originally held on a $80,000 bond, which he has since posted."

Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

"We extend our sincere appreciation to all the agencies involved for their outstanding teamwork, professionalism, and dedication," the ACSO said. "Their coordinated efforts ensured a safe and successful outcome in what was a high-risk operation."

"This arrest is a reflection of the courage and commitment our law enforcement partners demonstrate every day in the service of public safety," the ACSO added.
