LAS VEGAS, Nev., -- Latrell Bible is no longer a member of the Wyoming football team.

Head coach Craig Bohl confirmed the news Wednesday at the annual Mountain West Media Days in Las Vegas.

UW's ninth-year head coach failed to get into specifics, but said the Minneapolis native "lost 75 pounds" during the offseason.

"He's off the team," Bohl said. "Latrell was a good player, but I think guys come to a point where they want to do something else. To play offensive line, you better be three bills (300 pounds) and he's 235. He doesn't look like the same guy."

The sophomore was in the running for a starting job at center this fall after appearing in all 13 games in 2021. Bible played in parts of 33 games for the Cowboys but was never named a starter.

Bohl said Wednesday, that job now belongs to 6-foot-2, 325-pound sophomore, Nofoafia Tulafono.

Bible was labeled the fifth-best recruit in the state of Minnesota by Rivals.com. The former offensive and defensive All-State selection out of Washburn High School was also recruited by Air Force and South Dakota State.

Bible played in three games as a true freshman during the 2019 season, allowing him to maintain his redshirt status, according to NCAA rules. The following year, Bible helped pave the way for Xazavian Valladay, who was the league's top rusher and capped his career as the second-all-time leading rusher in program history.
