Laramie distance runner Mason Swingholm will be staying to close to home to continue his athletic career as he'll be attending the University of Wyoming. At the 2019 4A state cross country meet, Swingholm placed 2nd with a clocking of 16.33.98. He showed distinct improvement in his career as he finished in 33rd place at the 4A state meet as a freshman, 17th as a sophomore and was 6th as a junior with a time of 16.41.17.

Swingholm also ran track in his junior year with a 5th place finish at the 4A state meet in the 800 meter run, finishing in 2.02.5. In that same meet, he took 6th in the 1600 in 4.31.96 and 8th in the 3200 with a time of 9.55.99, Swingholm also ran the anchor leg on the Plainsmen 4x800 relay team that took the silver medal at the 2019 state meet.
