One of the most decorated swimmers in Wyoming prep history won't be going very away to continue his college career as Laramie's Max DeYoung will attend the University of Wyoming. In his senior season, DeYoung won 2 individual state championships in 4A in the 50 free with a time of 20.64 and the 100 backstroke in 49.16. He also swam on the Plainsmen 200 medley relay team that took 1st at the state meet and the 400 free relay team that placed 2nd.

Back in 2019 as a junior. DeYoung made the top of the podium 4 times at the 4A state championships with a win in the 200 IM in 1.55.64 and the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.29. His 200 and 400 free relay teams also placed first in that state meet.

His effort at the 2018  4A state championships as a sophomore was identical to his effort in his junior season.  DeYoung won two more gold medals in the 200 IM in 1.56.57 and the 100 backstroke with a clocking of 51.13. Laramie's 200 and 400 free relay teams also placed first.

DeYoung won his first 4A state title as a freshman in 2017 in the 400 free relay with a 2nd place finish in the 100 back and a 5th place effort in the 200 IM.
