Traffic issues, penny taxes, and Start-up Weekend Laramie were just a few of the topics Laramie Mayor Andrea Summerville addressed in her monthly radio interview Monday.

While a number of topics were discussed, a majority of the time was spent discussing the new Harney Street viaduct that opened back in July and some of the traffic issues that have come up since. Among the controversies that host David Settle referenced was about the lack of a light once WYDOT took down the signal at 3rd and Clark Streets. Mayor Summerville realizes there’s got to be a discussion with WYDOT about how to proceed moving forward.

The mayor also talked about the recent passage of the 6th penny tax renewal, and public discussions coming up next month on unpaved roads across the city, plus the upcoming 5th penny tax renewal in November, the recent incident at Albany County Republican Party headquarters downtown, and Startup Weekend Laramie Sept. 21-23.

Laramie Mayor Andrea Summerville joins host David Settle during the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show for the “Mondays With The Mayor” series. Their interview is usually the first Monday of each month, holidays and vacations notwithstanding, at 9:10 a.m. on KOWB (AM 1290). The Labor Day holiday moved this month’s visit to Sept. 10.
