The Laramie Police Department wants people to know that a new set of fines for parking violations in the city takes effect on November 1.

That's according to a post on the Laramie Police Department Facebook page.

According to the post, the minimum fee for all fines is now $40. Repeat offenders will be liable for increased fines, especially for parking tickets issued for downtown and residential parking violations.

But folks who pay the $40 fines are eligible for a 50 percent discount if they pay the fine within 7 days.

Also, tickets for illegally parking in a handicapped spot will now carry a $150 fine.

Changes Follow Passage Of A City Council Ordinance

The new fine structure was approved by the Laramie City Council earlier this year. You can read that ordinance and get more information on the new fine schedule here.

A Little Wyoming School House Preserved In Time

The little hamlet of Slater Wyoming has preserved on of their last two remaining buildings with all the love they feel for it.

There was once a tiny town on this spot.

Most everything is gone except the schoolhouse and the community building.

I stopped by one Saturday morning and the locals were more than happy to let us in to have a look.
