CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A former University of Wyoming student has been ordered to pay a $540 fine after pleading no contest to a charge related to posting an anonymous Facebook threat against herself.  This, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Meghan Lanker-Simons, was charged with misdemeanor interfering with a peace officer after the UW Police Department investigated a graphic, sexual comment against Lanker-Simons.

The comment prompted outrage and a rally against sexual violence that Lanker-Simons attended.

Investigators say Lanker-Simons wrote the post, which was anonymously submitted to a Facebook community where students are invited to profess romantic feelings about other students.

An attorney representing Lanker-Simons declined comment Friday.

Lanker-Simons gained national attention in 2010 when she filed a lawsuit against the university that forced UW to allow 1960s radical Bill Ayers on the campus for a speech on education.
