UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING PRESS RELEASE

The University of Wyoming Faculty Recital Series continues with a solo piano recital by guest artist Kori Bond Sunday, February 23, at 3 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. The UW Department of Music sponsors the free public concert.

Bond, a professor of piano at Idaho State University, coordinates the school’s piano program, teaches piano and related courses, and directs the preparatory piano program for pre-college students. She released her first commercial recording in 2007, “Complete 24 Preludes and Fugues of Dmitri Shostakovich.” Her second CD, featuring songs by Howard Boatwright -- performed with soprano Diana Livingston Friedley -- has just been released.

At UW, Bond will perform masterpieces from the Baroque era through the 20th century, including Franz Schubert’s revered Sonata in B-flat. Her visit is made possible through the Eminent Artist-in-Residence  endowment funded through the Excellence in Higher Education Endowment through the Wyoming State Legislature.
