Jubilee Days Junior Bull Riding Starts Busy Time at the Rodeo Arena
Action at the rodeo arena starts to pick up tonight with the Laramie Jubilee Days Junior Bull Riding at the Albany County Fairgrounds.
The cowboys and cowgirls that will be competing range in age from 4-to-18. While it's similar to the past, this year’s event has a new piece attached to it.
Laramie Jubilee Days Rodeo Chairman Myron Hales explained he's really excited about it this year because it’s connected to a larger event.
“Jubilee Days ended up being a national qualifier for the Junior National Finals Rodeo that’s going to be held in conjunction with Wrangler National Finals in Las Vegas.”
Hales says that’s bringing in more quality young bull riders to Jubilee Days. There are competitors from Alabama, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Approximately 65 youth are scheduled for the Junior Bull Riding.
Three-time NFR qualifier Bobby Welsh is bringing in some of the stock for tonight’s event, plus S&S Mini Bulls from Penrose, CO and Summit Pro Rodeo from Laramie will also provide stock.
Junior Bull Riding begins at 7 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and youth age 13 and up. Children 12 and under are free.
Thursday features the PRCA Mr. T Xtreme Bull Riding Event at 7 p.m. PRCA Rodeo action will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
