The University of Wyoming is bringing pop star Jesse McCartney to the Arts and Sciences Auditorium on March 7.

I don't know about the rest of the Laramie community, but I do know that my inner 13 year old is freaking out. McCartney's biggest hit, "Beautiful Soul" was constantly on the radio (and on the walkman that I listened to as I rode the bus to school). McCartney also co-wrote Leona Lewis' 2008 hit "Bleeding Love" with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. In addition to his music career, McCartney also acted in several films and made guest appearances in television shows such as "Greek", "Young and Hungry", and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit".

After stepping away from the music scene for a few years, McCartney released his single "Better With You" last year, his first music since his 2014 album "In Technicolor". Though his new music has a more acoustic sound than the tweenybopper hits his fans fell in love with nearly 15 years ago, McCartney thinks his fans still enjoy it. In a press release, the singer said of his fans that "when I was 16, they were in high school with their braces on just like me, and now here we are; they're playing my song at their wedding."

Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for UW students, and $20 for staff and the public. There is also a VIP meet and greet option available for $40. The purchase of a Meet and Greet does not include an event ticket. Tickets and Meet and Greet passes can be purchased at the Buchanan Center for the Performing arts box office, at the Union Information Desk, or by clicking this link.
