Laramie’s TikTok Celebrity Publishes Cookbook
When my boss sent over the information for me to write, it didn't click to me who he was. I was like "okay, cool, a Laramie resident publishing a cookbook." But after clicking his account, I sent an all-caps email to my boss saying OMG I KNOW HIM I SPENT HOURS ON HIS TIKTOK WATCHING HIS RECIPES.
Does the Instagram photo help you ring a bell?
If you're a regular on Tiktok, you may have known B. Dylan Hollis as the guy who cooks recipes from the 1900s to the 1980s. What makes his video fun to watch was not only are the recipes... weird... (but he says they are good if you eat them, so...) but it's the way he does them, that attracts many viewers.
It's been such a trend these days to make ASMR-type cooking videos, but Dylan takes the opposite route. He's not necessarily loud, but he's just very out there and has a character, making him so fun to watch!
Wait, hold on, who is this guy?
For those who didn't know, Dylan is a Laramie resident who went to the University of Wyoming in 2014 and graduated with a bachelor's of Jazz/Jazz Studies in 2021. He is famous for his cooking videos on TikTok of recreating recipes from the 1900s to the 1980s. He currently has 9.7M followers on his TikTok account.
So, instead of having to re-scroll his TikTok account to look for recipes to try and create, Dylan has released a cookbook for our convenience!
His debut cookbook Baking Yesteryear is available for preorder now! Just like his video content, his book is a decade-by-decade cookbook that highlights the best (and a few of the worst) baking recipes from the 20th century!
Baking Yesteryear contains 101 expertly curated recipes that will take you on a delicious journey through the past.
Some of Dylan's favorites are:
● 1900s Cornflake Macaroons
● 1910s ANZAC Biscuits
● 1930s Peanut Butter Bread
● 1940s Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake
● 1950s Tomato Soup Cake
● 1970s Potato Chip Cookies
You can pre-order his book on Amazon now, for only $12.99 on Kindle, and $27.20 for a hardcover.
