Did you know?

Father's Day was first proposed by Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Washington in 1909. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972.

It is a day to appreciate the father figure in your life and thank them for being there when you needed them. Everyone has their own traditions on this holiday. Planned or not don't spend time worrying about gifts to buy. Even though department stores seem to have taken over the holidays, remember the best gifts are those from the heart.

What matters is strengthening relationships and having fun. It may not always show but the one thing dad's cherish the most is happy moments with their children. A simple, "I love you" can make their whole day!

My Father’s Day tradition is full of love and smiles. I like to spend time with my family. We have a little BBQ at the house, share funny stories, and watch a movie together. A special dessert and small, thoughtful gift usually caps the night.

Let us know what matters to you!
