Family of Cheyenne Shooting Victim Reveal More Details
The daughter of one of the residents shot at a Cheyenne apartment complex last month has revealed more details about the deadly incident.
Barbara Giersch says her dad, 65-year-old Gregory Gilbert, is still recovering at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
Police say Gilbert and 45-year-old Matthew Wilson, an employee of Heritage Court Apartments, were outside the complex on the morning of September 14 when 77-year-old Larry Rosenberg shot them.
Wilson died at the scene and Gilbert, who was shot in the neck, sustained a shattered jaw.
Rosenberg also shot and injured 74-year-old Larry Warwick, a resident who was inside the complex, before fleeing the scene and shooting himself.
Giersch says all three victims were close friends and that they often played poker together.
Police say Rosenberg wrote a letter complaining about the poker games before the shooting, but Giersch says poker shouldn't be the focus of the shooting.
