The first Downtown Laramie Farmers Market of 2015 takes place on Friday, July 3. The farmers market runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday throughout the summer with the last one on September 25.

Market Manager Lindsay Olson says this year’s market has a variety of diverse vendors ranging from fresh produce, ready to eat foods, fresh breads, jewelry and more.

Olson says many of the town’s favorite vendors will be coming back to the downtown market, and some new vendors will begin serving the Laramie community as well.

“There’s a couple of local, ready-to-eat foods that haven’t been there before, we’ve got a new food truck, and then there’s Serendipity Confections—they make candies right in downtown—they’re going to have a booth out,” says Olson. “And then we’ve got a lot of new jewelry vendors and apparel vendors.”

Olson says the first market on July 3 is expecting over 30 vendors to appear on the streets of downtown Laramie.

The market will hold the same location as the last two years: on Grand Avenue between First and Second Street and on Second Street between Grand and Garfield.

Last year’s market saw many changes, including the acceptance of SNAP benefits (EBT) and an open container policy. Both of those changes will continue during this year’s market.

SNAP benefits will be accepted every day of the market, and many businesses have sponsored the SNAP program. This has enabled the market to provide a 50 percent match for SNAP benefits. For example, this means if someone uses their EBT card for $10, they will be provided with $15 worth of tokens to use with the vendors.

Anyone wanting to use debit, credit, or EBT cards can do so by visiting the Market Manager’s booth at the corner of Second and Garfield. At that booth, funds from the cards can be exchanged for tokens to use at the vendor locations.

Live entertainment will be provided at the plaza during the farmers market each week as well.
