Bear Creek Fire 80 Percent Contained, Pre-Evacuation Order Canceled
The Bear Creek Fire is now considered 80 percent contained, according to Albany County Emergency Management.
And a Pre-Evacuation Notice that had been issued in conjunction ith the fire has now been canceled, according to a post on the agency's Facebook page.
That order had been issued for HWY 34 from Morton Pass on the West boundary to Albany County Road 12 on the East boundary to include all of Albany County Road 12.
Firefighters Continue To Battle The Blaze
About 50 firefighters remain on the scene of the blaze, which at last report had a footprint of 1444 acres. People are being asked to avoid the area to avoid interfering with firefighting efforts.
