Ask The City – What Are The Cameras On Stoplights in Laramie For?
Your Question:
I've recently noticed cameras on top of stop light poles here in town. What are they? Are they red light cameras?
My other question is about seatbelts. Are seatbelts a secondary violation or can you be pulled over solely for not wearing a seatbelt in Laramie?
The City's Response:
The "cameras" on tops of light poles are lasers that adjust cycling of lights due to traffic.
Seat belt violations for non-infant seats are secondary violations, but if a child is seen who should be in a car seat, the Police Department can stop and cite.
