Ask The City: Traffic Light Issues

The Question:

Why do some lights such as the one at 21st & 22nd street turning on to Grand only stay green for short time or take awhile for it to turn green?

The Answer:

As those traffic light location are under the direction of the Wyoming Department of Transportation, they were contact to look into this issue. Generally when this happens, the detection is not working properly and not giving a signal that a vehicle is at the red light. If nothing is detected there will not be a call placed to change the light. The City has a great relationship with WYDOT and will follow up to be sure the lights are working properly.
