The Big Laramie Valley Cancer Benefit will serve dinner and feature a live auction to raise money in the fight against cancer at Harmony School this Saturday, June 2. It is the 40th Anniversary of the event and all proceeds are donated locally to Gifts for Living and Ivinson Memorial Hospital.

The night will start with a baked potato and nacho cheese bar at 6PM. A potato with all the fixin's is $5 for adults and $2.50 for kids under 12. Dinner will be served by the Harmony Home and Community Club. Then at 7:30 the live auction will begin with auctioneer Jeff Ward.

Organizer Ruth Blake says the two big auction items this year are a handmade guitar and a cedar chest. There will also be decorated cakes, pies, breads, crafts, woodworks, jewelry and other useful items for auction. If anyone has any items to donate for the auction, Blake says they can just bring the item with them on Saturday and they'll make sure it gets auctioned off.

Winning bidders will be able to designate where they want the money for their item to go. They can choose between Gifts for Living and the Meredith & Jeannie Ray Cancer Center. Speakers from both organizations will be at the benefit. For more information on the Big Laramie Valley Cancer Benefit call (307)745-9521.
