Depending on where in town you live, you might have wondered why water was only trickling out of your faucet late yesterday evening. Richard Elliot, director of public works for the City of Laramie, told us that a large water main break of a 12" cast iron pipe at the corner of 15th Street & Ord was the cause of a loss in pressure to parts of the city. Crews from the city were quickly dispatched to solve the problem and isolate the water main that was broken, restoring water pressure. 15th Street was closed at this intersection last night as the muddy mess was being fixed with large machinery but it has now re-opened to traffic.

As you can see from the picture above, there is now a fairly large hole in the street at the corner of 15th and Ord. There is no word as to exactly when repairs will be completed as crews continued work on the water lines below the street this morning, but we expect it will be fairly quick with 15th street being a major artery through the city.
