Next Wednesday July 27 starting at 10:00 am the United States Thunderbirds will soar over the skies of Cheyenne.  There is no cost for this event and it's great for the whole family. We have gone at least 10 times over the years and it always impresses me and my kids.

In the morning starting at 7:00 downtown by the depot there is a pancake breakfast that is free and always a great event. You can watch the Thunderbirds from all over Cheyenne but the best viewing area is the LCCC Campus and it is set up, and has free parking. Bring your camp chairs, sunscreen and a lot of water.
Watching this makes you proud to be an American and see these amazing planes and the time it takes to train and do the stunts these guy do on a daily basis is incredible. You will hear the theme song to Top Gun playing in your head for a week I promises!
Where to Watch:

Parking lots - will open at Laramie Country Community College (LCCC) beginning at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the event, and will remain open until the lots are full. The lot will hold approximately 2,500 vehicles. Once the lots are full or 9:00 a.m., whichever comes first, College Drive will be closed to traffic at Fox Farm Road and College Drive and Avenue C and College Drive.
Handicap Parking - Handicap parking will be available at LCCC until the parking areas are full and the roads to the College are closed by local law enforcement officials. If handicap parking is needed, please arrive early. The buses from the remote parking locations are not handicap accessible. If handicap visitors go south on College Drive from I-80 they will need to make a right at the first entrance to LCCC. Parking volunteers will direct handicap visitors to the handicap parking locations. Handicap parking will be located in the DV parking area close to show center.

Remote Parking Areas - The shuttles run from Holliday Home Plaza on Nationway and Cheyenne Plaza on East Lincolnway. Four shuttles at each location start at 7:00 a.m. with about 20 minutes between pickups. The shuttles will return from LCCC to the Plazas around 11:00 a.m., or as soon as the roads are open to traffic.
